Bicycle round
Every year in September a bicycle round takes place.
This bicycle
round event has as a
main achievement
to convince people to
walk and ride bicycles
around town rather
than driving cars
that are unfriendly
to the environment because of the toxic fumes they release
into the atmosphere. The motto of this event is ‘‘Move around
town with a bicycle’’. People of all ages older than 10 years
old may enter this event. Every year at the starting line there
is a safety precaution display, in order to make sure that
everyone knows how to ride their bike safely, which is
displayed by members of the Bicycle Team of Limassol and
everyone is requested to wear a helmet.
All those who manage to reach the finish line are
honoured with souvenirs like fluorescent clothing and
diplomas.
