This is my second open letter in my
privileged position as Chairman.
Little
did I know what I was taking on when
Jenny decided to step down! I suspect
it is never easy to fill the shoes of
somebody as dedicated as Jenny, and
indeed I would not presume to take
on all that she did for the Company.
But already in my first few weeks I have come to
appreciate just how much she did for us all behind
the scenes!
My spell in office started with a huge success for
which I take no credit at all.
I refer of course to our
last great production of Red Hot and Cole.
This was
neither a traditional musical nor our usual type of
autumn show.
Nevertheless, it undoubtedly brought
out the very best in people both on and off stage
and has brought many new members and friends to
CMTC.
I also feel that early production problems and
frighteningly low ticket sales a week before the show
served to galvanise the Compa
