A year ago Bexley Council
secured over £1m from
Transport for London under
the Local Implementation Plan
Funding to invest in Belvedere
Village but the residents and
businesses voted against the
scheme presented by the
Blackfen & Lamorbey
councillor Peter Craske.
The consultation on the final plans closed on
30 September and the Council state results
from showed 106 people voting for no
improvements and 95 people were in favour.
A
petition with more than 500 signatures on it,
stating people did not want change, was also
taken into consideration.
Craske said: “This scheme would have
represented the first major investment in the
Village for decades and the plans were intended
to improve the area to secure its long term
future as an important local business centre.
Throughout the project we’ve listened to
local people, including organising a public
meeting for people to come along and have
their say, and amended the plans to take their
views into account.
